The Dutch bank ABN AMRO had developed a portal for international trade. Market Extension developed an overview of other initiatives, worldwide and more specific in Germany and France. The largest Dutch telecommunications company KPN wanted to expand it’s general consumer portal to Germany and wanted to know the state of the market, major players, services offered and plans of these companies. A report was written, which made KPN decide to reassess its ambitions.

For the natural language search company Q-go (now part of RightNow) very detailed analysis was performed of their largest American competitor. We even looked at in which countries new staff was hired through headhunters and what prices were offered in different industry-types and how their cost and income structure was. Vivendi and Yahoo investor Softbank set up a joint venture to bring about 30 Internet start ups to Europe. We helped them to decide if one of the start ups should be rolled out in Europe. We gave an overview of the European market for online photography services,  current competitors and potential partners and gave them our opinion about the potential to get customers and gain profitability.
 
 
 
Edreams
 
Spanish ecommerce travel company eDreams was expanding in Europe and was assessing opportunities in the UK. Market Extension gave an overview of the state of the UK market, which competitors were active and what partnerships existed. We made recommendation for market entrance.

American fiber based communications company Level 3 was helped with their first steps on the Dutch market, which included finding 500 of the most interesting clients and training of Level 3 staff regarding developments in the online media industry. This gave them a quick start in a fast paced environment.

Shopsmart (comparative shopping search engine, now Yahoo) from the UK wanted to get insight into competitor activity in Germany. Market Extension developed an overview of players, their business partners, business models and other relevant information, which enabled Shopsmart to assess the potential for market entrance on the German market.
 
 
 
Private investor. An investor was advised on an investment opportunity in a French internet technology start up. We looked at management, competition and advantages and uniqueness of their technology. We said: don’t invest.
